As we have come to the end of the first semester, JROTC instructors at Jefferson High School must make a very important decision: deciding who will be selected for the next year’s Corps Management team.

Corps Management in ROTC always consists of the top dogs in the program. In my experience Corps Management has planned all the events, community service activities, and offered up advice to cadets who are struggling. Without these members of our unit, being a member of JROTC wouldn’t be the same.  Having students as corps management members gives ROTC a sense of personal buy-in. Other members of ROTC look up to Corps Management members as role models — including myself. Corps Management gives younger cadets something to work towards throughout their ROTC career.

The members selected for next year’s Corps Management team include; Mark Daffron, Michael Henriquez, Zachary Knott, Trevor Nupp, Rebecca Shadle, Jacob Wenner and Michelle Wunder. Knowing most of these cadets personally, I can ensure you that they all exhibit key management qualities, including scholarship, leadership and citizenship (our unit’s motto).

Instructor, Senior Master Sergeant Morris, said that all members selected greatly deserve this honor as they also exhibit, “Enthusiasm, and the desire for continuous improvement.”

Trevor Nupp, newly selected member of Corps Management, said his appointment was the culmination of a lot of hard work.

“To aid my selection into Corps Management, I treated others with respect, and did extra community service to show my dedication to the Corps,” he said.

It’s a tough decision for the instructors to select only seven out of many excellent cadets, those who are selected should feel a huge honor as they deserve it.

Congratulations to all new members of Corps Management!
