Around the track, I find my solid white line.
I line up with everyone else
my spikes dug deep into the track.
The ref commands us to our start;
one by one, he checks to see who’s ready.
Everyone in their position,
He does one more check.
Everything is order.
Anticipating the gun is not what you want to do,
but you do it either way.
BOOM!
I come out blazing
with my arms surging.
One by one I pass people,
like a jet racing a car.
Eventually taking the lead.
In front and halfway there;
I make sure my form is tight.
Coming to 100 meters and I finished.
I crossed the line.
I look behind me.
I see that I’ve placed,
I’ve placed first.
